Annual Clothing Drive

The community around The Horizon matters to both the students who live here and the management. We were brainstorming how we, as a building, could make a difference. This led us to the extra items that our students always leave behind or throw out as they leave the building. We thought, “Why not take our 'spring cleaning' and make something good out of it?"

That was the first step in this year’s clothing drive for a local homeless shelter. Typically, students get rid of numerous items — from clothing to furniture — when they leave our residence. There’s no better way to make use of these items than to donate them to those in need. Mid-March, we started advertising for our first-ever The Horizon Annual Move-Out Clothing Drive. The response from our residents was amazing. It is now May 3 and we have over 30 large bags of clothing donations!

The Horizon will be working in partnership with Hope Mission, the local homeless shelter, as well as Cut Thru Media to create a promotional video for our annual clothing drive. We look forward to working with our local community to ensure this drive become a big success every move-out season.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has participated in this great cause! We look forward to sharing our end results via a short video within the next month or so.
